Detour

DSC_0407

Ugh!!! Set out on this godforsaken rainy day, for a tan, a sweatshirt and some candles.

Came home with four dining chair cushions, candles and paint from Sherwin Williams.

The paint color, that I was pretty set on, looks like nothing, absent of color, in my sunless foyer.
The chair cushions don't fit my chairs. Which is fine cause I really need a tan and a sweatshirt!

I'm not excited about my house. It's like an arranged marriage. It's a good match for us but also a decorative challenge. And although I love me a good "designer's challange" I happen to be going through a change of taste. I'm in decorator limbo. Stuck between all the abundant traditional furniture of my past and the more moderen decor of the NW and retail in general right now. I just can't decide. Not a real problem, just a big fat waste of time is all! Oh and not wanting to be in debt for house stuff anymore...

I'm in love with this right now. Which to some, may be a bit overwhelming, but to me is my idea of heaven on earth. I cannot now, nor will I ever, get enough of fabric. All of it...at one time...in one room. Color is pure delight to me. It's really hard to pull off though, without looking either juvenile or junky. But I'm gonna try....stay tuned for details...it will happen eventually.

  2. The cusions are awesome. Love 'em. You're so good with crap like this, but I know that feeling of looking around wondering whether or not you've inspired what your house looks like, or the previous owner's stamp is still lingering too much. Jeff probably can't stop tossing and turning over this very upsetting predicament. :)

  3. oooh, I love those colors and the chair cushions...who cares if they're a bit big...they're adorable!! The orangish rust color is wonderful!

Hang in there...we'll get out of this stinky cold weather soon and we'll enjoy the warmth of the sun soon...don't they say the sun come out to stay in Seattle on July 5th? It's coming!

this is great stuff. :) I would be PETRIFIED to put paint on a new cushion in my house. It would be splattered everywhere.

So glad you de-lurked. Come visit me often.
